Writing a dissertation requires primary sources most students don't have access to,
and what better detailed information than the private archives? You have permission from your professor, who is currently at the American Historical Association conference that takes place next January. He's a very busy man.

Question - how will you prove that you're allowed in?

True, and you don't need permission for research on deceased people. Still, you'll have to forge a professor's signature just in case.

You're French? Your accent is very good. I studied it in high school, but I've never had the chance to practice.

I used to be in the history program and keep in touch with a few professors, but it would help if we had a third party to help with this.
